Weight significantly affects performance in yachts and boats. Aikon® coated clear plastic sheets are lightweight, weather-resistant, and safe. The lightness of Aikon® clear plastic sheets is a particularly useful feature, as their weight is only half the weight of glass, which lowers the center of gravity, reduces the overall weight of the vessel and improves fuel efficiency. Clear, durable, and optically high-quality plexiglass for ice hockey rinks
We have been collaborating with ice hockey rink manufacturers for a long time, making us an experienced partner in the field. As a partner we are developing new, unprecedented features for ice hockey rinks. Clear plastics, or plexiglass, are utilized in the design and construction of new rinks for various purposes. These materials must meet high-quality standards in impact resistance, optical quality, and scratch resistance.
Aikon® clear hard-coated plastics offer an excellent solution, combining durability, safety and optical quality. The advantages of these plastics also include their lightness, excellent impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and UV radiation resistance.
Aikon® PMMA Hard and Aikon® PC Hard materials provide safety for spectators, hockey fans and players without compromising the optical properties of the plexiglass. These hard-coated plastics have extremely high scratch resistance, which means less marks from pucks and easier cleaning thanks to their excellent chemical resistance.
Weather and impact-resistant solutions for noise barriers
A noise barrier made of clear hard-coated polycarbonate meets the EN 16240 standard, providing a weather-resistant and impact-resistant solution. Thanks to the coating, the material retains its properties for a long time, making it a highly cost-effective and durable option for noise barrier manufacturing. Aikon has also a PMMA option available, which will meet the EN 1793 and EN 1794 road traffic noise reducing device -standard.
As your product development partner, we assist you in designing durable and transparent noise barriers that do not break or crack like glass. A well-designed noise barrier can reduce harmful noise by up to 30 decibels.
Aikon® PC Hard, hard-coated polycarbonate, is an extremely durable and lightweight material. Polycarbonate is half the weight of glass, but it is up to 200 times more impact resistant and does not break easily. Thanks to the coating, the material's resistance to scratching and UV radiation improves significantly, which also prevents the material from yellowing and extends their service lifespan. The coating also enhances the material's chemical resistance, making it easier to clean and allowing for quick response to any potential damage or vandalism incidents.
The plastic printing and marking technology we use enables durable markings and patterns to be made on noise barriers. This not only improves their appearance, but can also help prevent, for example, birds from colliding with noise barriers.
